History Of Pilates

Joseph Pilates designed more than 500 specific exercises using five major pieces of apparatus to develop the body uniformly. Instead of performing many repetitions of each exercise, Pilates utilizes fewer and more precise body movements, requiring proper control and form. The abdominals, lower back and buttocks are strengthened  thereby creating a solid foundation for postural support, reducing stress on the spine and weight-bearing joints.

The end result is a body exhibiting greater balance, longer & leaner muscles & enhanced mind-body connection. Pilates is for everyone - adolescent, elderly, injured and professional athletes.
